"Your beauty does not have to come at the price of your health." -Nicole Jardim
Back in the day I used to get horrible headaches and sinus problems whenever I cleaned my house, sprayed some perfume on, or styled my hair using hairspray and mousse (remember mousse?? LOL).
It didn't stop there though. I used to have red itchy eyes from my eye shadow, sometimes my eyelashes would fall out from my mascara, I'd get random rashes on my face from the foundation I used, and my shampoo would make my scalp super flaky.
And I had NO idea why.
At the time, I was clueless about ALL the crazy harmful ingredients in my cleaning & personal care products, my makeup, and my pads and tampons.
Who would have thought? I trusted that the government had my back and they were regulating all this stuff. Right?!
Being the detective that I am, I did some digging. When I found out what was in basically every product in my house I did a clean sweep. Like I threw everything away because I couldn't stand the thought of going near those ingredients again. And guess what? No more headaches, and sinus issues, rashes, eye problems and dry scalp.
In fact, this is one of the main reasons I decided to pursue my work in women's health. We women are particularly vulnerable to the effects of these toxic ingredients, and the myriad endocrine and hormone disrupting chemicals in conventional home and personal care products really do a number on us!
Why take the risk? I know I was no longer willing to put my hormonal health on the line for any company that didn't care enough about me to actually test their ingredients. That's where Beauty Counter comes in!
